Thankfully, we now have\u00a0an eco-friendly cling wrap made out of beeswax that not just\u00a0preserves your food for a long time but can also be reused for several months.<\/p>\n
Hoopoe On a Hill (HOH) is an enterprise in Kodaikanal, Tamil Nadu (India) which sells organic honey, collected by the Paliyans, a tribal community. Of late,\u00a0the Paliyans started selling beeswax too, which helped HOH come up with the idea of a reusable cling wrap.<\/p>\n
These wraps look like thin cotton cloth-lined with beeswax.\u00a0They can be used and reused for about 4-6 months at a stretch.\u00a0For those who don\u2019t know, beeswax has anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties which protects your food.<\/p>\n
\u201cBeeswax does not have an odor of its own neither does it let the smell of your food stay,\u201d says Priyashri from HOH, adding that \u201cSo it neither gives or absorbs the odor. All you need to do is put your wrap under water for a while, dry it and it is ready to be reused!\u201d<\/p>\n
