{"id":57527,"date":"2018-11-15T09:45:37","date_gmt":"2018-11-15T09:45:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.i-believe.org\/?p=57527"},"modified":"2018-11-15T09:45:37","modified_gmt":"2018-11-15T09:45:37","slug":"students-from-this-indian-city-share-their-lunch-boxes-with-over-3000-needy-people","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/i-believe.org\/gbrifoundation\/2018\/11\/15\/students-from-this-indian-city-share-their-lunch-boxes-with-over-3000-needy-people\/","title":{"rendered":"Students from this Indian city share their lunch boxes with over 3,000 needy people"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u2018Maa ki Rasoi\u2019 is an initiative undertaken by\u00a0Maninder Pal Singh and his NGO &#8216;Ray of Positivity&#8217; under which\u00a0home-cooked food is served to the patients and attendants of three hospitals in the city of Ludhiana, Punjab : Dayanand Medical College and Hospital (DMCH), Shri Krishna Charitable Hospital and Civil Hospital.<\/p>\n<p>This food is brought in by\u00a04,100 students and 160 teachers from R S Model School every Tuesday and Friday.\u00a0One of the key reasons why this is a great initiative is because it instills a sense of sharing in the children.<\/p>\n<p>Even if the school is sometimes shut on Tuesdays or Fridays, the parents and children are so enthusiastic that they bring the food, says Singh.<\/p>\n<p>He adds, \u201cWe see how doing this has made the children so much more grounded and aware of the realities around them. There is nothing greater than doing <em>seva<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>His wife and children ably assist him in this endeavour. <em>Boondh boondh se sagar bharta hain<\/em>, he concludes.
