In a recently published research paper, a team of international scientists has revealed that is has been successful in curing two patients – one from London and the other from D\u00fcsseldorf – of HIV using stem cell therapy. They found no rebound of HIV in the two patients who stopped taking their HIV medication after they received stem cell transplants for a hematological [blood] disease.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

at the Conference on Retroviruses and Opportunistic Infections in Washington, while Dr. Bj\u00f6rn Jensen from D\u00fcsseldorf University found his ‘D\u00fcsseldorf patient’ has potentially been cured the same way. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n\nSince there are now only these few patients who have undergone the medical procedure, researchers are cautious to call the treatment a \u201ccure\u201d \u2013 but the London and D\u00fcsseldorf patients show that after a single transplant and with even mild cancer chemotherapy and without radiation, remission may be achieved.\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
