{"id":58252,"date":"2019-07-03T06:15:09","date_gmt":"2019-07-03T06:15:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.i-believe.org\/?p=58252"},"modified":"2019-07-03T06:15:09","modified_gmt":"2019-07-03T06:15:09","slug":"las-vegas-launches-an-initiative-that-allows-drivers-to-pay-off-parking-tickets-by-donating-school-supplies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/i-believe.org\/gbrifoundation\/2019\/07\/03\/las-vegas-launches-an-initiative-that-allows-drivers-to-pay-off-parking-tickets-by-donating-school-supplies\/","title":{"rendered":"Las Vegas launches an initiative that allows drivers to pay off parking tickets by donating school supplies"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>On June 19<sup>th<\/sup>, the city council of Las Vegas\nlaunched a brilliant initiative under which drivers are allowed to pay off their parking tickets and driving\ninfractions by donating school stationery items and other educational materials.\nSince it is a month-long program, it is expected to run until July 19<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Under the program, as\nlong as a driver has not been fined for a public safety-related incident, they\nare free to eliminate their debt by donating supplies such as pencils, pens,\nerasers, dry erase markers, paper towels, copy paper, rulers, scissors, and\npencil sharpeners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All donations must be made within 30 days of the infractions and all of the supplies must be \u201cnew, unwrapped school supplies of equal or greater value to their fine to the Parking Services Offices.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\n\nAll of the supplies will be donated to the Teachers Exchange, a nonprofit that is associated with the Public Education Foundation.\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Read more here: <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"https:\/\/www.goodnewsnetwork.org\/las-vegas-accepting-donated-school-supplies-for-parking-tickets\/ (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.goodnewsnetwork.org\/las-vegas-accepting-donated-school-supplies-for-parking-tickets\/\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/www.goodnewsnetwork.org\/las-vegas-accepting-donated-school-supplies-for-parking-tickets\/<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On June 19th, the city council of Las Vegas launched a brilliant initiative under which drivers are allowed to pay off their parking tickets and driving infractions by donating school stationery items and other educational materials.
