The company is putting their roadside\nbillboards to good use by attaching \u201cbee hotels\u201d to their backs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is not the first time that McDonalds has used tiny\nstructures to help the dwindling bee populations. In addition to several of the\nSwedish branches building beehives on the rooftops of their restaurants, the\ncompany auctioned off a fully-functioning beehive that was built inside of \u201cthe\nworld\u2019s smallest McDonalds\u201d back in May.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The \u201cMcHive\u201d, which was built by award-winning set designer\nNicklas Nilsson, sold at auction for more than $10,000, all of which was\ndonated to charity.
