The Australian bushfires are a countrywide catastrophe that have unleashed massive devastation killing millions of animals and displacing thousands of people. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
“I am totally devastated watching what is happening in Australia right now with the horrific bushfires,” the singer wrote in a Tweet. “I am pledging a donation of $500,000 directly to the local fire services that are battling so hard on the frontlines. My heart goes out to our friends and family in Oz.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Australia’s two most populous states, New South Wales and Victoria, have had their east coasts devastated by massive out-of-control fires that have destroyed more than 1,500 homes,\u00a0The Guardian reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The NSW Rural Fire Service commissioner, Shane Fitzsimmons, said on Saturday that 148 fires were burning across the state, 12 of which were at emergency warning alert level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
