Tiger Woods and Justin Timberlake partner to create a fund and pledge $6 million towards Hurricane Dorian relief efforts
Hurricane Durian unleashed massive destruction in the Bahamas recently. In order to help the Bahamians overcome this crisis, Tiger Woods and Justin Timberlake created the ONE Bahamas Fund wherein they will be matching every donation dollar for dollar. The celebrities have already pledged to match the first $6 million received in donation to make it $12 million that will go towards Hurricane Dorian relief efforts.
“As a strong believer in philanthropy and teamwork, I’m excited to partner with my friends @jtimberlake, #NEXUSLuxuryCollection, @rbc and @albanybahamas to establish the ONE Bahamas Fund in support of Hurricane Dorian relief, recovery and rebuilding efforts,” Woods said on Twitter.
The ONE Bahamas Fund will “support a wide range of immediate recovery needs and important long-term rebuilding initiatives required in the country… including a focus on shelter (temporary and low-cost housing), living necessities (clothing, food and communication devices), educational support (scholarships, transportation costs and supplies), community (aiding in the design and development of infrastructure needs), and seed funding for Bahamian businesses.”
